Who wants to have these sexy summer bodies???
I do!! and I know that you’d love to have it too! Especially this summer!!!! It is ofcourse, a dream of every girl in the world.
It doesn’t actually look nice for us to go to the beach or resort, wearing bikini w/ flabby tummy!
So, although, I…
NACI Comfort Food now @ the FORT + giveaway
It was nice catching up with Nadine Nocom, the owner of NACI Comfort Food restaurant, whom I had the pleasure of meeting last year. I was among the bloggers invited for their food tasting event held at their now-closed Greenhills branch (*read post here*) before. Although I’m sad that branch is now closed, I’m sure southerners and yuppies would enjoy their new location! They recently moved to a bigger and better space at the Fort! It was nice of Nadine to invite me again to their new home! After work, I went straight to the Fort and was very excited to see what has changed in this fusion restaurant.
So what’s new? For one, NACI now has high ceiling! I also noticed the revamped look — it’s now more stylish and modern. Probably to pique the interest of the Fort crowd. They also changed their name to just NACI Comfort Food, dropping the “and Dessert Bar.”
New color combination of the interior! Loving the yellow-green-orange combo… So refreshing to the eyes!
They also now have a bar area! NACI turns into a drinking place around 10PM onwards. They actually even dim the lights to get a “bar vibe.” Comfort food + drinks = one awesome night, agree? :)
And of course, they have this! Nadine was excited to share that their menu is now hi-tech! Naka-tablet lang naman! Amazing! Those who are familiar with NACI’s old menu would be surprised that they cut down their food selection for their new branch. But you’d hardly notice that because they STILL have a wide array of options available.
The Black Grape Shake is one of their bestsellers, so I ordered this. I usually order mango shake when I dine out, but I have to say this Black Grape Shake was worth trying! It tasted sweet and sour at the same time.
We can’t decide which appetizer to get so Nadine recommended the Nat’s Appetizer Sampler. We can mix and match up to 4 appetizer from their menu. We chose Glazed Chicken Wings, Triple Nachos, Cajun Mozzarella Balls, and Classic Gambas.
Glazed Chicken Wings - Crispy fried chicken wings with their secret glaze served with lemon cream dip. I love the tangy taste of this!
Classic Gambas - Classic sauteed fresh water shrimps with garlic, chillies and roasted pimiento. I kinda wish this tasted a bit spicier.
Triple Nachos - Deep fried flour tortillas, taro chips and corn chips served with cheesy Mexican beef and homemade tomato salsa. I was really craving for nachos for the longest time so finally it was satisfied that night! YUM! Although I hope they add more cheesy dip next time.
Cajun Mozzarella Balls - Crispy fried mozzarella croquettes served with pimiento salsa. These are amazeballs!!! You know how I dig cheese so much, right?
This Baked Potato Skins were also served as our appetizer. It’s deep fried half shell potato skins stuffed with beef ragout, mozzarella and tomato salsa. I don’t normally eat baked potato skin but since this one’s topped with so much mozzarella cheese, it was hard to resist!
Because it was love at first bite when I first tried this Nadine’s Adobo Cannelloni last year, I ordered it again that night. I really love this fusion dish! Creamy and bursting with so much flavors! I don’t like adobo eaten as ulam, but with this pasta dish, I can totally finish the whole thing up! It was named after the owner herself, Nadine and it’s one of their bestsellers! You gotta try this one out! :)
I also got to try the Arugula and Shitake Primavera. For the health conscious ones, you can try this out! But they also have Cohen-friendly menu which consists of four choices, so you can also ask them about that when you visit NACI.
This Creamy Lengua is described in the menu as braised fork tender lengua with mushrooms, olives and cream served with steamed up land rice. Hehe, I’m not a big lengua lover so I didn’t try this out much.
After consuming all those food, Nadine quipped that we should try their new Cuchifrito Rice Bowl. We all said no, haha! We were saving our full stomachs for desserts! A trip to NACI isn’t complete without trying their delicious cakes! We were able to try four flavors as recommended by Nadine.
This Chocolate Ganache Cake is a personal favorite of mine. It was their bestseller flavor at their Greenhills branch. Omygosh, just typing this post made me crave for it again! :P
Their Red Velvet Cake has this super moist texture and topped with their yummy vanilla cream cheese frosting.
New favorite of mine would be this Pistachio Sansrival. Nadine also mentioned it’s their new bestseller at their Fort branch. I’m not surprised why many loved this! It’s made of layers of crispy meringue and rich pistachio buttercream loaded with roasted pistachio nuts. It’s not overly sweet and the crispiness takes it to a new level.
This Caramel Cream Cake is made of luscious blend of vanilla cream and caramel fudge sandwiched between layers of light vanilla chiffon finished with caramel glaze and shards of dark chocolate coverture. This didn’t standout for me that much… probably because I was cake overloaded by that time already. Maybe next time I’ll give this sweetie another try.
Thank you again Nadine for the invitation and for the yummy dinner courtesy of Naci! You guys would be surprised to know that she takes her resto business seriously! She’s very hands-on with the operation (together with her partner Natasha) and you can normally find her at NACI talking to customers and treating them as long time friends. She makes the people feel at home, and I guess great tasting food combined with great customer service like that made people loyal to NACI.
Photo-op outside NACI. You will surely love the food here. It may be quite pricey but the upscale location calls for it… that’s why NACI made the servings bigger so you’re rest assured you’ll still be getting your money’s worth.
